We traveled to Pendleton, South Carolina to trial for the weekend. Whew, that’s far from Wilmington, but we’re trying to get experience traveling and trialing in different locations! We ran 9 runs and qualified in only 3 runs: Premier Standard (twice) and Master Jumpers. You just never know when you’re going to get lucky!
Durham Kennel Club October 2-3, 2021
Outside trials are so challenging when you practice indoors! We ran 7 runs and only got 2 qualifying runs this weekend!
Western Carolina Dog Fanciers Association in Waynesville, NC, September 24-26, 2021
This was a super fun trial for us. We got to stay in an Air BNB that was just awesome. There was a hot tub and the people were super nice! Ann got two Double-Qs at this trial. We were starting to get the hang of things!
Teamworks September, 11-12, 2021
Wow it is really hard to keep up with uploading to the blog! A lot has happened since September 11, 2021, but I will attempt to blog through our progress. We took the month of July off from agility and trialing and went back one time in August and then here we are in September. Ann was a little rusty and it took a few tries to get back in the game. We ran 6 runs this weekend and only got ONE qualifying run!!!
Greater Monroe KC August 13-15, 2021
We went back to Concord, NC to try to face the demons that got us the first time we went to Concord. To be fair, the first time we went to Concord, was Ann’s second trial EVER, so she was a very novice, new agility dog and I was still a very new and inexperienced handler. I think she did very well and didn’t really remember that this was a place that scared her so much the first time around. That’s the value of time, age, and a little experience. We got 6 qualifying runs out of 10 runs. We got TWO DOUBLE Qs at this trial! SO SO SO proud of my Ann Perkins!
Danville Kennel Club June 26-27, 2021
We went to Danville, VIRGINIA! Traveling around is new to me but I’m having fun traveling to places I would probably never have visited had it not been for Ann Perkins. We got 4 out of 7 qualifying runs. On Sunday, June 27, we got a DOUBLE Premier Q! Which, in all reality, doesn’t mean much, but I am proud of that. The regular DOUBLE-Q is what we’re after, which we’re having issues getting, but we will work hard to get there! We did get the TIME 2 BEAT title at this trial. That means that we got 15 Time 2 Beat qualifying scores.
Moore County Kennel Club June 12-13, 2021 in Sanford, NC
Back to where it all started at Bon-Clyde Learning Center in Sanford, NC. We got 3 Qs out of 6 runs this weekend. We are still learning and reminding ourselves how to play agility after taking a year off for COVID.
Blue Ridge Agility Club May 29-30, 2021 Fletcher, NC
We had a great time playing agility in Fletcher, NC! Ann got 5 Qs out of 5 on Saturday and 2 out of 5 on Sunday. We got our very first DOUBLE Q at this trial! Very proud of my Ann for all of her accomplishments!
Winston-Salem Dog Training Club Trial May 8-9, 2021
We went to Winston-Salem (my old stomping grounds – NC School of the Arts and Governor’s School West) to play a little agility in May. We got 2 Qs out of 7 runs. We’re still getting more comfortable with different settings and venues. Still learning and working hard!
Durham Kennel Club April 25, 2021
We went to Durham for a day to check out another outdoor event. The weather was beautiful and we even got a chance to lie in the grass while we waited. We got a 3rd Place Q on Standard. Ann had a hard time seeing the weaves so we have to go home and practice on the solid color weaves!
